I would like to know that on the Day when Imam Hussain was Martyred and his followeres were dying of Thirst and Hunger is it allowed for us muslims to distribute water and milk and food (khichda & pulaaoo)

Should we not mourn the day and stay hungry and thirsty like the Ahle Bayt and remember his shahadat???

Very good question sister..
and i am sure many of us muslims might have this question in their mind and would like to know the answer..

1. In Moharram it was Yezid who stopped water and food for the Ahle bayt. It was the work of Yezdis not to give water and food to the muslims...Hence by distributing Food and Water in Moharram we are actually doing things which Yezid dint do and hence we are doing right.

We give food water juices Sharbat in the name of Hussain signifying that Imam Hussain ( (Rahmatullahi Allaih)) dint had any shortage of water...wo Dono jahan k maalik ke Nawaase the aur unke liye paani ka ek samandar bhi wahan haazir hojaata but it was Allahs will that Imam Hussain's martydoom become a lesson for all Muslims coming after him and hence Imam Hussain and Martyrys of Karbala laid down their lives to teach the world lesson of Sabr and Imaan.

2. It is proved by Hadees and Sunnat that we can give our Blessings as a Reward to the people who have passed Away. So doing charity like feeding the poor and giving water to the thirsty these actions bring a lot of swab and we offer these sawabs to the Martrys of Karbala which is very much permissible

Apne Amaal ka swaab aap Shahdaae karbalaa ko dete hain..aur bhuke ko khana khilaana pyaase ko paani pilaana bahot bada swab hai...this can be looked like this also...

very true..
jab khwja garib nawaz k kehne par pura ANAA SAAGAR ek pyaale me aaskata hai to kya IMAM HUSSAIN k kehne par pura Samandar karbala nai aasakta..beshak aasakta hai...

Also moreover its Sunnat to fast on the day of Ashura..so if one wants he can Distribute Food and Water to the poor and fast himself..

As Salaam Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Mohtaram Imran Saheb / Mazhar Saheb & all dear members.

Subhaanallah very good views on distributions of water and food to all .

All buzurgaan-e-deen have done fatehas majlis on 10th moharam and have distributed food and water particularly to remember the 72 martyrs of Karbala and Imam-e-humam Hazrat syedina Imam Hussain ( Razi Allahu thaalah anhu )

All Tareeq people perform fatehas on this day after namaz-e-zohr and later they distribute tabrukaats  etc for poor and all.

It is not compulsory to fast on this day .  Earlier sahabas were told to cook well and eat nice on dishes on 10th moharam as 10th moharam is a special day for many prophets like hazrat moosa alaihis salaam got victory over firoun, hazrat Yunus alaihis salaam got out of fish stomach on this day etc. It is a good sign who prepares well and eat well on this day of 10th moharam.

Wearing good dress, putting incense  ( oodh ) in houses, eating good food are good signs on this day.

Yes it is a recommended act and we should not only limit it to the month of muharram but should distribute food in the love of Imam Hussain  Aleh Salam  on other months too.

I totally agree with Ali.0009. Why do we have to be kind to a specified month, why cant we be kind and helpful in all the other months as well?

u r rite sis...evn i agreee wit both of uuu....but in moharram the virtues are much higher.....coz islam gained life in that month...and there are many more reasons..some are mentioned by bro khaleel above...

jst to make it easiier to undstnd...jst thnk
y fast are made obligatory in ramadan...
y worship in the month of ramadan is more virtous than any other month...
y hajj i dhul hijjah
y friday prayer hold much importance...

Allah subhan wa ta'ala has given importance to these days and months....but these acts are not restricted to these dayz and months....i mean its not that we are ask to pray only on fri..or to fast only in ramadan etc...

I not only Agree with My dear Altaf Bhai jan, great altaf bhai but die for such important days.

In some arabian country, i don't want to take the name of this country the ministry of labour department cancelled the Meelad day holiday and there was a statement in news paper that in islam there is no such important to celebrate only on a particular day.

All labourers poor people were disheartened and lost their holiday and also it effected me and lot of poor people, labourers and many ashiqeens that the holiday was cancelled for meelad day.

" The night of Shab-e-Qadr " is heavy on all the nights of the year ? Why
Shab-e-Qadr one night is equal to  hundreds of months etc.? why

" 9th Zil haj is arafah day ( hajj day ) ? Why there is not another day for Arafah Day ( Even it is mentioned in hadiths that 10 days of Zilhajj are important )

!0th Day is meena day and the day of Qurbani day ? why ?

Huzoor e kareem ( sal-lal-lahu alaihi wa sallam ) use to visit the martrys of Uhud only Uhud day every year and use to visit the martyrs of Badr of 17th Ramzaan Why ?

on 12th Rabi ul awwal whole universe ( specially earth ) witnessed rahmahs and barakahs ? why ?

Why Juma day is heavy on the other days of the week ?

The 10th Moharam is the day of when many prophets got special blessing from allahu subhaanahu thaalah and this day of meet of Allah subhaanahu thaallah and Grandson of beloved prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam " Shaheed-e-Azam Hazrat Syedina Imam Hussain ( Razi allahu thaalah Anhu )"

So we perform Fatehas and send duroods Nazarana and read salaams with more aqeedath , more respect , more love for Huzoor e kareem ( Sal-lal-lahu alaihi wa sallam ) and his sacred family members and all Buzurgaan-e-Deens ( Saleeheens ) on particular Days because it is the sunnah to commomorate , remember them, love them and send esaal-e-sawab and distribute food  etc on these particular days only.
