Peace be upon you. Oh daughter of the Commander of the faithful  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him)! Peace be upon you, Oh daughter of Fatima, Two Worlds' Radiant Lady (SA). Peace be upon you. Oh righteous one, pleasing to Allah.

We speak of Hazrat Zeinab  Aleh Salam . She well conveyed the message of Karbala's uprising and tragedy to the world and today it is a great honor for Muslims to follow this great lady as an example in their lives.

Truly when an individual spends his or her life in support of truth and establishment of divine values, his or her name will remain eternal in history and his or her lifestyle will inspire the future generations. That is why the name of Zeinab and her li festyle has influenced many people even non Muslims.

Ms. Carin from Germany, after embracing Islam, chose Zainab as her first name. Regarding her incentive in choosing this name, she says: 'I was always interested in the life story of the holy Prophet of Islam (MBABUHP) and his household. I was specially affected by the story of uprising of Imam Hussein  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him) in Karbala, and the per sonality of Hazrat Zainab in the events of Karbala. The self-sacrifices of that great lady, while bearing the heavy grief of martyrdom of her brother and other companions are praiseworthy. Hazrat Zainab was a lady of knowledge, virtue, bravery and patience.

These characteristics helped her carry out her mission in Karbala uprising in the company of Imam Hussein  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him). Hazrat Zainab's lifestyle contains instructive points for me and whenever I come across a problem, I immediately remember Her. For, her nam e brings me tranquility. That's why I adopted the name of Zainab after embracing Islam.

Hazrat Zainab  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him) was brought up under instructions of a father like Imam Ali  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him) and a mother like Fatema (SA) and she benefited greatly from these two personalities. Historians say Hazrat Zainab inherited bravery, honesty, and fluency in spee ch from her father Imam Ali  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him) and kindness and loyalty from her mother Hazrat Fatema (SA).

During her childhood, Hazrat Zainab was so keen in acquiring knowledge that one day she assisted her brothers Imam Hassan and Imam Hussein (Peace be upon them) in answering a jurisprudential problem.

She made great efforts in giving religious training to the women of her time and thus many women at that time benefited from Hazrat Zainab's knowledge and teachings.

Hazrat Zainab spent her fruitful life in promoting monotheism and assuming divine responsibilities and her heroic participation in the greatest epic of history, namely the uprising of Imam Hussein  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him) in Karbala brought her a lasting name.

You won't find a single person who is familiar with Karbala tragedy and has not heard of Hazrat Zainab. Zainab (SA) conveyed the message of Imam Hussein's uprising to territories beyond Karbala desert. In that tragedy she was both a patient teacher and a nurse.

She encouraged the warriors and sympathized with the injured. She was so bound to the fulfillment of her religious obligations that even at those critical conditions, she did not forget to say her prayers at night. Imam Sajjad  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him) says: 'I saw my aun t Hazrat Zeinab (Peace be upon her) saying her prayers while sitting.

A major part of Hazrat Zeinab's mission started when Karbala tragedy apparently ended with the martyrdom of Imam Hussein  (Choicest blessing and peace be upon him). This chapter of Hazrat Zainab's life began with conveying the message of Ashura in which she heroically defended the househol d's rights and did not permit the enemies to take advantage of Karbala tragedy.

In this tragedy, the Omayyud ruler Yazid and his followers thought that they had succeeded in creating a negative image of the holy Prophet's household, but when the caravan of the household members now in captivity arrived in Kufa, Hazrat Zainab behave d in such a way that she managed to turn the so-called victory of the Omayyud into a defeat. In her famous address, She changed the mentality of the people of Kufa and Damascus.

She symbolized a shining sun who reflected light into everything. Although Hazrat Zeinab did not live long after Karbala tragedy, she sowed the seeds of awareness in the entire Islamic society. This great lady passed away in 62 AH after she made lots of efforts in the path of truth.

Once again we offer our condolences and bring you an excerpt from her historic statement addressed to Yazid. She says:

'O Yazid, practice any trick you can and do anything that you think would vanish Islam, but you should know that you can not eradicate our message, path and memory. You should know that our memory will never die.

Sayyida Ruqayya's shrine in Damascus, Syria

Syeda Ruqayya was the young daughter of Hazrat Syedina Imam Hussain ( Razi Allahu Anhu )... also known as Sakina but in the Arab world she is known as Ruqayya... she was the one who would give peace to Imam Husayn's heart and after her Father's martyrdom she was terribly tortured.
She was slapped
She had her Earrings snatched off her that her earloves were ripped
She saw her father's body with blood and arrows all over it
She had her tents burnt and some of her clothes too
She was paraded... a young girl who is known to be only 4 years old.. other traditions differ however she had a rope tied around her neck
She died in the prison because of the amount she cried for her Father

Her story is very sad and tearful indeed

Sahabi Hazrat Abu Darda (ra) the Person Who Rasulullah ( (sal-lal-lahu alai hi wa sallam)) Said That He Is The Wise Person Of The Islamic Ummah.

The great Sahabi Abu Darda (radiallahu 'anhu) used to say: "Shall I not tell you about something that is better for you than charity and fasting? Reconcile between your brothers, for hatred diminishes reward." (reported by al-Bukhari in Ad-Adab al-Mufrad)

Maqam of Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi(ra) in Damascus, Syria.

Hazrat/Sultan Salahuddin is buried in the tomb on the right.

Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany donated the marble one on the left but Saladin was never placed in it.

Gentle hearted Sultan Saladin Ayyubi became one of the world's greatest warriors by defeating crusaders and capturing the holy city of Jerusalem.

Born in Tikrit, Iraq, Saladin, his Arabic name is Salah al-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub.

At the age of 14 he joined other members of his family (the Ayyubids) in the service of the Syrian ruler Nur ad-Din.

He was brought up by his noble father and talented uncle, Asad-ud-din Shirkhu. Saladin was a very intelligent and noble person. He loved peace and never enjoyed fighting battles.

And when the young boy who didn't like fighting in battles fought, he fought with great bravery and strength.

After Nur ad-Din's death in 1174, Saladin became head of state, Saladin expanded his power in Syria and northern Mesopotamia.

Following the submission of Damascus (1174), Halab (Aleppo) (1183), and Mosul (1186), numerous Muslim armies, allied under Saladin's command were looking immortal, The Crusaders were not happy by Saladin's increasing power and success.

Uniting their forces, they planned a decisive attack on Muslim area. Battle of Hittin took place. Muslims won under the leadership of Saladin. Thousands of Crusaders were arrested. Saladin treated the prisoners with tolerance.

In 1187 CE, Saladin conquered Jerusalem. Thousands of Crusaders were arrested. However, when their mothers, sisters, and wives appealed to Saladin, he released them. Many crusaders were ransomed.

However, he paid for many of them. In addition, he provided them transport, etc. He allowed neither massacre nor looting. He gave free pardon to all citizens. He even arranged for their traveling.

He granted freedom to Christians to leave the city if they paid a small tribute. Saladin paid it, himself, for about ten thousand poor people.

His brother paid it for seven thousand people. Saladin also allocated one of the gates of the city for people who were too poor to pay anything that they leave from there.

On Friday 27th Rajab 583 AH, Saladin entered Jerusalem. After entering the city they went straight to the  Masjid and cleaned it. Then for the first time in more then 80 years, the people of Jerusalem heard the Azan (call of prayer) from Al Aqsa  Masjid.

In 1189 the nations of western Europe launched the Third Crusade to win back the holy city. But they failed. On March 4, 1193, Saladin died in Damascus. He died with no possession of Gold coins, Palaces, Slaves, but The Holy Land Of Jerusalem.

He is remembered by Muslims as well as Non-Muslims as a kind hearted un-selfish Warrior.

He was a religious person and followed the teachings of Quran (Book of God) and Prophet Muhammad's teachings regarding War, he treated all of his Prisoners with Respect and dignity, no torture, massacre, mass killing, took place during his time.

And unlike all other Sultan's he did not build a single Palace or any building for himself yet he erected mosques, palaces, hospitals, and universities in for his Muslim brothers in Cairo. This is why he is a favourite topic to write on by even Westerners.

Maqam Araba'een also known as Jabul Qassum, the Shaykh and mureeds, Climbing to were the first murder of Prophet Adams son took place and were 40 Abdals, come at Maghrib to Pray.Part 1 of 4

Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal writes:

"Sayyiduna 'Ali narrated that, the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, 'There will remain 40 abdal (Saints) in Syria.

Through their wasila, Allah will provide food, shelter, rain and victory over the kuffar.

Whenever one dies, he is replaced by another'"

Among the Awliya there are four thousand who are hidden. They don't know one another and are themselves unaware of their excellent state, being hidden from themselves and from mankind. These elite beings are in the realm of 'general saint-ship' (Wilayat aama). The functionaries of Allah's court, involved in the Spiritual Administration are in the realm of 'special saint-ship' (Wilayat khaassa): They are classified in the hierarchy as:

1. Three hundred Akhyaar (good) - very good 'righteous' and upright servants of Allah'

2. Forty Abdaal (substitute)- the pegs of the universe, who live physically on the earth and who are 'substituted' (badal) every time one leaves the physical realm. . In a Hadith Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "There will be 40 Abdaal on the soil of Mulk-e-Sham (Syria) till the Day of Judgement. If one dies another will take his place"

3. Seven Abraar (pious) from among the Abdaal - spiritual guardians

4. Four Awtaad (pillars) from among the Abdaal

5. Three Nuqaba (leaders) and

6. One called Qutb or Ghawth.

As for the Abdal there number is 40 and they can be found in Shaam/Damascus.

Tomb of Imam-Al-Nawawi ra in Bosra- Nawa Town- Syria

Imam Nawawi complete names is Abu Zakaria Mohiuddin Yahya, son of Sharaf AnÄNawawi, and from the family of Imam Hassan and Hussain and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him.)

Nawawi refers to Nawa, a place near Damascus, in the suburb of the city of Howran.

Imam Nawawi (ra) was born at Nawa in the year 631 A.H. His father, a virtuous and pious man, resolved to arrange for proper and befitting education as he had discovered the symptoms of heavenly intelligence and wisdom in his promising child at an early stage.

Imam's Simplicity and Niceness of Manners:

The learned persons, elite of the society and the public greatly respected the Imam on account of his piety, learning and excellent character.

He used simple dress and ate simple food. Devout scholars do not care about worldly chattels, they give preference to religious and academic pursuits, propagation of Faith etc.

They experience more heavenly delight and joy in such activities than those who seek satisfaction in luxurious foods, precious clothes and other worldly things. Imam Nawawi had a prominent place among the erudite notables of his age.

He was God-fearing person having illustrious and glorious aims regarding propagation of Faith. Celebrated Sheikh Mohiuddin expresses his impression about Imam Nawawi as thus:

"Imam Nawawi had three distinctive commendable qualities in his person. If anybody have only one out of these three, people return to him in abundance for guidance. First, having knowledge and its dissemination.

Second, to evade completely from the worldly inclinations, and the third, inviting to all that is good (Islam) enjoining Al-Ma'ruf [i.e., Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do] and forbidding Al-Munkar [polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden]. Imam Nawawi had all three in him."
